Frequently Asked Questions
AccessiScan is an automated web accessibility testing platform that scans your website for compliance with accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1, ADA, Section 508, and EAA. Our tool identifies accessibility issues and provides actionable recommendations to make your website accessible to all users.
When you run a scan, AccessiScan uses a headless browser to load your web pages and analyze them against accessibility guidelines. The scan checks for issues like missing alt text, color contrast problems, keyboard navigation issues, and more. Results are typically available within 30-60 seconds per page.
We support multiple accessibility standards based on your region and requirements. All standards are based on WCAG 2.1, mapped to national legislation:
- WCAG 2.1 - The international standard for web accessibility
- ADA - Americans with Disabilities Act (US)
- Section 508 - US federal government standard
- EAA - European Accessibility Act (EU)
- EN 301 549 - European ICT accessibility standard (EU)
- Equality Act 2010 - UK accessibility legislation
- ACA - Accessible Canada Act (Canada)
- RGAA - French national accessibility framework (France)
- BITV 2.0 - German barrier-free IT ordinance (Germany)
- JIS X 8341-3 - Japanese accessibility standard (Japan)
- LBI - Lei Brasileira de Inclusao (Brazil)
- RPWD - Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (India)
- KWCAG - Korean Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (South Korea)

Yes! Pro and Agency plans include API access that allows you to integrate accessibility testing into your development workflow. You can trigger scans automatically on deployment and fail builds if critical accessibility issues are detected. See our API Reference for implementation details.
Your accessibility score is calculated based on the number and severity of issues found:
- Critical issues have the highest impact on your score
- Serious issues significantly affect the score
- Moderate issues have a moderate impact
- Minor issues have minimal impact
A score of 90-100 indicates excellent accessibility, while a score below 50 indicates major barriers that need immediate attention.
